Important Message from the Southern Suburbs Orchid Society

Dear members and followers,

Please note that the Southern Suburbs Orchid Society has decided to cancel its monthly meetings until further notification.

As you are all aware, the COVID-19 Corona virus has seriously impacted the Victorian community and there are a number of actions we all need to take to try to stem this pandemic in our own region; as well as comply with all the government’s health regulations.  While the regulations are changing every day, we have received notification from our local council that the hall used for our monthly meetings is closed until further notice.

  • The SSOS Committee has been receiving regular advice from OSCOV and many other Clubs and Societies have also cancelled their meetings until further notice.
  • The Committee’s decision is also based on advice received from government bodies including Local, State and Federal and also from the Royal Horticultural Society of Victoria regarding the conduct of meetings and the potential health implications of these in relation to the COVID-19 virus.

We will continue to provide you with some enjoyment by sharing images of our members beautiful flowering plants on a regular basis. Members will still receive our regular  monthly newsletters.

Meanwhile – Stay calm and grow orchids!
