Is winter in Melbourne getting you down?
-
Are you longing to see and feel the warmth of tropical plants and forests?
Then come along to our July Meeting at the Southern Suburbs Orchid Society (SSOS) in Melbourne, where local renowned orchid grower Murray Harding will provide a photo-narrative show of some the most magnificent orchids growing in the Pacific Island of Fiji.
His talk will focus on the ‘Garden of Sleeping Giants’, situated in Nadi, on the Fijian island of Viti Levu.
The Garden has over 2000 varieties of Asian Orchids and Cattleya hybrids on display.
The Garden was once the private collection of the late US actor, Raymond Burr, star of many popular US TV series such as ‘Perry Mason‘ and ‘Ironside‘. Burr also featured in Alfred Hitchcock’s famous movie ‘Rear Window‘.
